How much does computer repair cost?

On-site service is $85 for the first hour and $65 for each hour after that, billed in 15-minute increments. If the equipment has to come back to the shop, Ben gives you a flat-rate estimate before any work begins, so you always know the price up front.

Do you come to my home or business?

Yes. NeedBen is an on-site service — Ben comes to you throughout Bluffton, Hilton Head Island, Sun City Hilton Head, Okatie, Hardeeville, Beaufort, Port Royal, Lady's Island and Ridgeland SC, plus Savannah, Pooler, Port Wentworth and Rincon GA. Some repairs are faster in the shop, and Ben will tell you when that is the case.

What if my computer can't be repaired?

Ben will tell you straight away and explain why. Rather than sinking money into a machine that is not worth saving, he will walk you through your replacement options, and he can source, set up and transfer your data to a new machine for you.

Do you work on both Windows PCs and Macs?

Yes — Windows 10 and 11, macOS, Chromebooks, iPhones, iPads and Android phones and tablets. Ben also supports printers, scanners, Wi-Fi networks, smart TVs, streaming devices and smart-home equipment.

How fast can you get here?

In Bluffton, Sun City and Okatie, same-day or next-day appointments are common. Hilton Head Island is usually within a day or two. Beaufort, Port Royal, Lady's Island and the Georgia-side cities are scheduled in grouped runs, so call and Ben will give you the next available window.

Can you help me with something over the phone or remotely?

Often, yes. Many software problems, settings changes and quick questions can be handled with remote support, which saves you a trip charge and gets you running faster.

Does AirPrint need an app?

No. An AirPrint-compatible printer prints directly from iOS with no app and no drivers. If you need the manufacturer's app to print at all, your printer likely does not support AirPrint.

Why does my iPhone find the printer sometimes but not always?

Intermittent discovery usually means weak Wi-Fi at the printer or a router that is reassigning the printer's address. Improving signal at the printer's location, or giving the printer a fixed address, generally resolves it for good.

Can I print from my iPhone without Wi-Fi?

Some printers support direct wireless printing, where the printer creates its own network your phone joins. It works, but you lose internet access on the phone while connected — fine as a workaround, not a good permanent setup.

iPhone Says "No Printer Found"? Here's How to Fix It

You tap Share, then Print, and your iPhone tells you there is no printer to be found — even though that printer is ten feet away and printing fine from your laptop. AirPrint is genuinely convenient when it works, and genuinely maddening when it does not. Here is what actually causes it. Both devices must be on the exact same network. Apple's AirPrint feature requires that your iPhone and printer be connected to the same network. If your router broadcasts both a 2.4 GHz and a 5 GHz network, the printer may be connected to one while your iPhone is connected to the other. This alone prevents the printer from ever appearing on your iPhone. Check the network name in your iPhone's Wi-Fi settings, then print a network-configuration page from the printer and compare. If they do not match exactly, that is your answer. Let the iPhone search properly. When printing from an iPhone, tap the Share button and choose Print. If you see "No Printer Selected," tap it and allow the iPhone a few seconds to search for available printers. Once your printer appears, select it and try printing again. Do not tap away immediately — discovery can take five to ten seconds on a busy network, and many people give up before the printer has a chance to answer. Restart the network, then the printer. Restart your Wi-Fi router. This refreshes the network connection and often resolves AirPrint issues on its own, because AirPrint depends on a discovery service that quietly stops working when a router has been running for months. Turn off your VPN. If you're using a VPN on your iPhone, temporarily disable it and test printing again.
